The PRO Dress Code

We strive to maintain a positive and professional image of PRO and the sport of bowling. One of the ways we do this is through our dress code.

Bowlers must wear a PBA-approved shirt, with or without a collar, name not required. Bowlers may NOT wear ordinary t-shirts to bowl.

Men are required to wear slacks or "dress shorts."* Cutoffs and similar casual attire or "beach wear" is not acceptable.

Women must wear skirts or "dress shorts." As with the men, cutoffs and similar casual attire or "beach wear" is not acceptable.

* Dress Shorts Q&A

Q: What are "dress shorts"?

A: Well, at first we figured it would be pretty easy to define the term. We'd start by saying what weren't dress shorts, something along the lines of  "No cutoffs, no athletic shorts, no cargo shorts..." Then we went shopping and saw that brand-name "dress shorts" cost a lot of money. Soon after, we saw a pair of darn good-looking, $25 linen cargo shorts and began to rethink the "dress shorts" thing. Here's what we came up with: while cutoffs and athletic shorts are still banned, we think "dress shorts"  simply means "really short slacks."

You know what we mean: look presentable. A nice shirt, a nice pair of slacks or shorts. If you look like a slob, we'll either fine you or we won't let you bowl.
